The Holiday season is fast approaching, and if you own a PS2, Xbox 360, or will own a Wii, chances are you are excited about at least one of these three huge holiday releases: Final Fantasy XII, Gears of War, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. These games represent a rare culmination of huge budgets, excellent storytelling, and great art direction. So I thought I’d round up some video clips of each one.
Final Fantasy XII - Out Now
We’ve waited a long time for this one, and it looks like it was well worth the wait. A friend of mine already picked up a copy, and aside from wonderful visuals, and an epic story, the battle system looks really fun.
Gears of War - (11/7)
This is the cinematic trailer that will be playing on the big screen before movies this holiday season. Personally, I think this ad is great! The music is great, (yes, I realize it’s a cover), the tone of the song adds some really cool contrast, and overall presents some very awesome visuals. I know its hard to see the details from a youtube video, but I downloaded this trailer on XBL and watched it in 720p, it is fantastic, and it’s all in-game engine.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - (11/19)
Every day I wait to play this game is yet another day I grow more excited about it. I think it looks amazing. Given Nintendo has been working on this for years, and they’ve developed a very deep storyline with great visuals and fun gameplay, I am pretty confident this game will be great, even given the high standard of being a Zelda game. It will not just be a great game, it will be a great Zelda game.
