When I read about the ability to invest virtual money in gaming, my first thought was “how silly”, but now that I’ve bought a few shares in the Video Game Stock Market (VGSM), I find myself trying to find good deals like anyone in the Day Trading business 
Now, the majority of people are going to find this stupid and trite, but it can be construed as an interesting social study on how individuals collectively value their video games. I find it interesting that so many people would actively join this website and (myself included) have had their attention diverted to make sure I don’t screw up.
I won’t go into an in depth detail on the mechanics of idea because the site does that well and explains everything well. I encourage you to check it out and have a good time.
