This is extremely unoriginal of me, but I must have Tetris in my “Remembering a Classic” series. I have spent hundreds of hours playing several different versions of this game, but I have a special place in my heart for the original Gameboy version. It can be said that Tetris for Gameboy was the game that put Nintendo on top in the handheld market. Nintendo has been king ever since, destroying the hopes of the Game Gear, Neo-Geo Pocket, N-Gage, and now the PSP. Tetris also has an amazing history, full of legal battles and cultural differences. It has evolved into several different play modes, and tactics. It has spawned it’s own terminology of hard drops, soft drops, naive gravity, and phantom pieces. It is not only single player now. A very good version is available on the DS that allows online multiplayer. It’s a great game, and continues to be a great game. So, thanks Russia!
